Hi from me

Callum
Hi everyone, I figure I ought to introduce myself as I've now been playing for nearly 2 weeks (though I'm still getting to grips with the game, and seem to be reading all the blogs & guides in completely the wrong order!).

I've played D&D (and PF, and various others) since forever, and a few MMOs – Lineage2, LotR, and SWTOR mainly.

My main in PFO at the moment is a cleric, will probably end up being a TN or LE cle of Norgorber with political/diplomatic inclinations (Reaper of Reputation rather than one of Norgorber's less socially well-adjusted aspects!) and will probably focus on aristocrat/seneschal eventually but for now is just exploring & gathering.

Hello there! Don't feel bad - I'm still digging through guides myself, and frequently smacking my forehead for doing dumb things. Welcome to the madhouse that is the forums! Poke around, ask questions, offer insights. With only a couple of exceptions, we don't bite.

Welcome, Callum.

If you have questions ask around folks will answer your questions.
And be sure to check out the Settlement and Companies subforums for a gaming group that fits your playstyle.
But you should also pay attention to the geography and political landscape when picking a settlement or company.
i.e. In the Western Side of the Map in the Highroad Covenant Alliance* we have 0 to 5 PVPing PKers moving around in the area in a week at most at the moment. So you can enjoy the PVE content with out getting PKed and robbed of your stuff.

*High Road Convenant Alliance is made of the settlements, Talonguard, Tavernhold and Stoneroot Glade
