A friends list would be good, menu of possible interactions to replace having to run console commands in order to interact, things like
"/w playername, message you want to send"
while usable and used A LOT, are quite cumbersome and error prone especially for messages with punctuation and players with long names.
Settlement chat is also very useful, but an in game voice char would be silly since mumble already does it so well.

Most MMOs add on the voice mod late in development anyways, TS or the like have been around for years, and inclusion into most clans or guilds is recommended to have it.
WoW didnt add in their own voice chat for several years and even then I think it was third party through a proxy.
PFO chat needs some real basic copying of existing systems chat channels for text, sending a tell is painful.
