New Small Slot idea for Deities

Brighthaven Leader
Hello all,
I had an idea for Small Slots in your settlement being dedicated to certain deities. Currently a Temple (Medium Slot) offers various types of cleric training, like armor feats, channel positive/negative, cleric defensive/reactives, as well as specific deity domains. I would like to see a small slot specifically for Shrines to different deities that would offer only those domain feature feats and faction based training.

Why do you want this? What benefit would it be to you?

It sounds like a waste of space to me, for little gain compared to every other Small plot structure.

Its just splitting the training even further, and would allow settlements to host even more deities.

It adds options and I can't think of any real downsides.

If you do this then you may as well have specialist options for every class. A small structure for Heavy Blade Fighters, Necromancers, Shortbow Rogues, etc. It seems like you are diluting the training and it would be more effort for the devs to create assets for the multitude of new structures than worth while.

Deity training is a pain in the ass, and an exception to the way the rest of the Roles work right now. It's balanced in the PnP because you just choose what Deity to worship, just like a Wizard might choose a school of magic. However, in PFO they've gone and screwed that by placing hard restrictions on that choice the other Roles don't have.

So I disagree but agree at the same time.

Yes, but you missed part of what I proposed, each Deity will be its own Faction, there will be faction specific training and quests, these shrines would facilitate that in the future. Other classes do not have Faction specifics, and only a few others might, which might warrant new small slots.

One of the motivations for this idea is the fact they had to scrap their entire small slot support mechanic, which has left a big deficit in small slot usage.

There does seem an excess of crafting and weird oddities like wells and guillotines in the small slots and not much else.

Nope, I didn't miss it. They will have factions for Hellknights and other groups as well and said that we'll be able to build settlement structures based around them when we have enough faction points in the appropriate group. They also mentioned that Deities will each have their own faction and stuff for them will be accessed at Temples and Cathedrals. We don't know how big those other faction structures are going to be but there will be less total for the devs to create if they don't have to add in yet another for each individual Deity. Temples already cater to only a single Deity. If they could support extra, than this idea might be more valid.

I think that these other faction buildings and other cool structures may be able to fill in one of the ten Small plots a Settlement has, maybe even a bigger Infrastructure item, but I just don't like the idea you've proposed. You're basically asking for the Support mechanic back, for the Deities. I am glad it's gone, it was a mess of wasted space.

How am I asking for the support mechanic back? Everyone still has 20 support, it just gives settlements more cleric options.

Fair enough you don't like it.

@Edam has it been confirmed that small and infrastructure take up the same slots? Last I heard we had small slots and infrastructure slots.
