This is turning out to be more difficult to fix than we'd hoped and we need to focus on getting EE 18 out the door. We'll return to it when we can. Until then, please don't upgrade to Catalina if you want to play on your Mac.

So players will have to learn how to play the game by scrolling through the Public Spreadsheet???

Though imperfect, the game does have tutorials that explain the gameplay basics, help text for the bulk of the game screens and systems, and the existing player guides are mostly accurate despite their age. I generally wouldn't point new players toward the public spreadsheets until they've gotten a feel for playing the game and are ready to start making more advanced plans, at which point it's harder to glean all that info from the game's UI.

The public spreadsheets themselves are a bit of a compromise, providing data that many games don't initially make easily accessible to players outside the in-game UI, at least not until they can devote some time to implementing a nice API for accessing it. The spreadsheets aren't the prettiest presentation of the data, but they're relatively easy to publish and keep updated, and we provide them so players don't have to scrape all that info off the in-game UI and make their own spreadsheets by hand.

However, how about some info on how GW/Paizo plans on getting some actual people willing to play the game long enough to even have the remote thought of actually wanting to drop more cash than the sub fee to buy xp? If Open Enrollment is looming, whats the marketing plan?

We don't have any specific marketing plans to announce at the moment. Our focus right now is on getting the build out.

With EE 18 officially ending Early Enrollment, is there any updates to documentation planned also?
I haven't looked recently but the player guide was out of date last time I checked. Just worried about any new players getting discouraged by the learning curve that exists today.

That's high on our list of things to work on, but we're unlikely to get to it for a little while. Though we're going to stop referring to the game as being in Early Enrollment, we're still going to be clear that there's ongoing development and lots of things that could use more polish.

Though we don't have any specific ideas ready to discuss for purchasing XP (and won't until we're closer to implementing it), Pay to Win concerns have been a big part of all the discussions, and always will be.

Item Master

I pledged at one of those levels listed above and never heard a single solitary word from GW regarding it.

I don't have all the records handy, but I thought emails were sent out very early on to the backers of all these rewards so we could at least get their initial thoughts on what they wanted implemented. That said, there probably wasn't much follow-up at the time to make sure everyone got back to us, since we weren't really ready to implement several of them and still aren't.

If any of you believe you backed one of these and never heard from us about it, please send an email to customer.support@pathfinderonline.com so I can make sure you're still on our list to get that reward.

Seems like there are an awful lot of *promises* that are not only FAR from being fulfilled but also not even mentioned any more - as if they no longer count or matter or were never promises. How can GW declare Open Enrollment with so much left unfulfilled that many people specifically pledged extra $$$ for?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1675907842/pathfinder-online-a-fantasy-sandbox-mmo/description

Open Enrollment was always a nebulous concept, but the important thing is that it wasn't intended to be the end-point of development, or even to mark the point at which we'd fulfilled all the Kickstarter rewards. Early Enrollment was really only intended to last 12-18 months, and on balance we've implemented roughly the level of content and features we planned to implement during that time. Given our available resources, that's included less art than planned, but more on the design and code front. There's more work to be done, and we still intend to get to the remaining Kickstarter rewards, but we feel the core gameplay is far enough along to consider the game a minimum viable product, particularly with the new subscription model.

  • Are we still restricted to creating just 3 characters per login? If not, will it now be possible to amalgamate accounts?

We plan to eventually allow more than 3 characters per account, and to allow accounts to be combined, but don't have those features scheduled yet. The changes we're making in EE 18 do get us closer to being able to add those features though.

  • We currently can transfer/trade entire accounts between players. Will we be able to now just transfer individual characters?

We're obviously aware that accounts are sometimes transferred between players, but it's not generally something we're looking to support or encourage. The features that make it possible to transfer an account, like being able to change the email address and password on the account, are for the most part just essential account maintenance capabilities needed by individuals, and likely wouldn't have been implemented if they were just about account transfers.
