The Bloodbriar Goblins can drop T1 Expert and Freeholder Expendables, and Gathering of Legends can drop T3 ones. I'll file a bug to check the overall balance on all those drops when I have a chance. That said, given that bosses are usually tackled by characters with more PvE-combat focus, I wanted to keep the rewards more directly focused on those characters where I could.

Between the new AI and new monster/group types and new escalations, is there going to be a time on the test server so the dedicated playerbase can look for any characteristics that might create exploitable behavior before the change goes live, and we would have to risk damage to our equipment to find those emergent behaviors?

Oh, and will NPCs fully respect the various debuff effects like Immobilized, Stunned, and Knock Downed?

Internal testing is almost complete, and we're planning to have the build up on the test servers early next week. Given all the changes, along with the number of changes that have to do with things that occur over multiple days, we'll leave it up at least through the weekend, making Tuesday, May 23 the earliest we're likely to deploy to Live.

In terms of NPCs and various debuff effects, we haven't made any changes to that part of the system for this update, so the things they do or don't respond to won't change.

Is it still possible/permissible for companies to attack holdings adjacent to settlements on their own?

Yup, you can still feud the owner of the hex directly, and being adjacent to an unallied settlement will mean the hex is open to attack on its PvP days. The only part of this that will become a rule is that to be counted as Sieging Settlement X if you're a member of Settlement Y, Settlement Y's founding company will have to directly feud Settlement X's founding company so that everyone can join in.

Feel free to post questions on the forums as well, or email customer.support@goblinworks.com. You won't get quite as immediate answers those ways, but you'll usually hear back fairly soon.

Another question!!! Yay!

Do siege camp hexes benefit from the 4 allied hexes protection stratagem?

Sorry if this has been asked…. smile

They would, but not when they're neighboring an unallied settlement, such as one they're sieging. They would potentially be protected if they were just placed in a hex to force another hex to keep its PvP windows open, but then at least one neighboring hex isn't allied with them, and they're burning through a lot of bulk resources (on top of not producing any in that hex) for the privilege, so I don't think it's a huge deal. Nonetheless, siege equipment doesn't really seem like it should be protected at all, so I'll put in a feature request to look into changing that at some point.

I assume this is a temporary solution until something more robust can be slotted in far down the line?

There's a long-term plan for a larger system of declaring war between settlements, which could also include handling war between larger alliances. None of that's on the roadmap right now, so this could be temporary for quite a while (aside from other small tweaks here and there), but it is something we definitely plan to improve on.

We've added a new feuding variant for EE 12, with feuds between two founding companies being treated as settlement-wide feuds. It's essentially as though every company in the feuding settlement is feuding every company in the feuded settlement. Because this is like declaring multiple feuds at once, there's a multiplier set to the cost for such a feud, currently set to 4.

This will be the required way to handle feuds when companies attached to a settlement are sieging another settlement, in order to make sure that the attacked settlement members don't have to do a bunch of company hopping to participate in the incoming feud. Unaffiliated companies will still use standard feuds, but of course they'll have the disadvantage of lacking extra support from a settlement.

I'd like to add some more variety to the random encounters, including some tougher mobs and possibly even the hero/legend types. I had some technical reasons for avoiding the high-end mobs on those lists originally, and I'd have to look things over pretty carefully before actually putting them in, but I believe we've already made some changes that make it possible to include them now.

Unfortunately, it's also not a trivial amount of work with all the different terrain types, each one with its own list of encounters to spawn. We'll have to see when enough time clears up for me to take a serious look at it.

It's pretty easy for me to create a new forum, such as one for the Dominion as a whole, and then hide all the individual settlement forums that would be under it (or I may be able to make them sub-forums of the Dominion). I don't have an easy way to "merge" the existing settlement forums into one larger alliance forum, though if the settlement forums only have a few topics in them, I may be able to move those topics manually over without too much trouble.

That said, I'd probably hold off on any changes until EE 12 is ready to go, since that will be occupying most of my time until then.

Yes, Evil Bob stalks the land again! All of our carefully refined procedures are as nothing to His infernal intelligence… Still we will fight on! We will adapt!
