Looks like they're back up now, apologies for the interruption.

Problem found. There's a line of hexes down, but we should have them back up soon.

Interesting factoid. An old company that has been booted from its settlement seems to maintain its holdings and proceed naturally with its last PVP window setting. At least for one full server down and up cycle so far.

I will watch it for a few days. This could mean that once established, a group could possibly have an independent hex or small group of them. Let's see what develops from more server downs. I will watch it for a few days.

Companies should be able to establish holdings without being aligned with a settlement, and they should keep their holdings when they leave. That said, there does indeed seem to be something weird going on with PvP window settings for unaffiliated companies. I've filed a bug to look into it further, but any details you find would be appreciated.

I'll check it out.

The bonus is currently implemented as a flat bonus, with the hex simply producing that amount of the listed bulk resource on top of anything else it's producing. I'd forgotten the potential detail of linking it to outpost production, though I'm not sure we'd ever finalized anything on that front, and I suspect we intended to debate the details a bit when we finally got around to implementing the bonuses. And now is that time.

Adding in a restriction that the hex's outposts need to be producing at least some of that bulk resource in order to get the bonus would certainly add an incentive to make holdings match the theme of each hex, but hopefully not so strong a bonus that every holding in an area will be exactly the same. It would also mean that there'd be a pretty big incentive to always match at least one outpost to the holding, which might lower variety a bit. However, only one outpost producing that bulk resource would be required, so the second outpost could still be just about anything that works acceptably with the hex's bulk rating.

Overall, I think that would be a good change, so I'll file a feature request to get it implemented. Not sure if we'll be able to get it in for EE 12, but I don't think it will be too difficult to get in eventually.

On the wiki, is it an error that mine holdings get a bonus of stone and quarries get a bonus of iron? Seems the only two that are out of sync.

Thanks for reminding me of that. Had a bug report from a while back to look into that eventually but it slipped down in priority (primarily because it wasn't working anyway at the time the bug was entered) and I didn't notice it while making these related fixes. I've now switched those two around as well.

On a related note, the PvP Windows (including day, time and duration) for hexes that are controlled by a Siege Engine and neighbor a settlement run according to that neighboring settlement's PvP Window settings, not those of the controlling company/settlement. This way the battles "defending" the settlement happen at the times chosen by the settlement, which otherwise would have required writing something into the rules forcing attackers to change their PvP windows to match those of their target. Attackers may still want to do so if they can't get enough players on to cover more than 3 windows each week, but that's up to them.

And another item I'll mention here because it's about Holdings and Outposts: Cole got upgrade visuals showing up properly, so now upgraded Holdings and Outposts will show the correct upgraded models. In general they'll switch to a new model every other upgrade.

FYI, Cole got the Holding Resource Bonuses working for EE 12, so that will get added on to the daily output coming from your hexes. You'll actually get it whether or not you've got any outposts, so it's essentially just some bulk resources that your holdings produce on their own.

With that in, I did make some quick changes to some of the Resource Bonuses to better match with the work done on the Holding Upkeep numbers. For Trading Posts, I raised the Trade Goods they produce to 2-12 instead of 1-6, to match the other holdings. For Fisheries, I lowered their output from 4-24 to 2-12 to match other holdings, and also changed it from Trade Goods to Bulk Food. That was because it was the only holding producing the third resource needed for its own upkeep, making that too valuable a bonus, and because Trade Goods was overly-represented as a Resource Bonus on other holdings.

Clearly a topic worthy of discussion. For me, it would be best to have the bulk of that discussion in 2-3 weeks when EE 13 is starting up, since I need to devote my time for the next little while to testing EE 12 and getting feedback on the changes in it, but I'll be happy to dig into details once this build is ready to go.
