So, here's the first suggestion: the holiday is over. Get rid of the holiday escalation. I'm a new player, I have the luxury of playing far more than the rest of my group, and Them Ogres Ain't Right is a prevalent quest throughout the southern section of the map. My more seasoned teammates tell me this is because the escalation hasn't been cleared from the holiday yet. But each of those monster hexes used for the holiday escalations are also designated for rare mat drops - and as a brand new player it's frustrating that the bulk of what I should be trying to gather is buried under ogre droppings.

The good news is that all those Them Ogres Ain't Right escalations aren't long for this world. Several have fallen in just the last couple weeks, and the remainder don't have much strength left. The bad news is that they'll be replaced by even more challenging escalations, but there are only 6 more escalations in the sequence after that one, at which point each of those hexes will return to normal.

Whenever an escalation or sequence proves bothersome for those wishing to gather in that hex, my suggestion is that they or their company/settlement leadership seek out mercenaries who might be willing to focus on that hex in return for some added rewards. As a data point, the hex near Brighthaven just went from Them Ogres Ain't Right all the way to completion in roughly 10 days. I can't guarantee there are mercenaries available at an affordable price who could make that happen for you, but at the very least there are forces out there capable of clearing any current escalation or sequence reasonably quickly. They just may need some extra incentive to turn their attention your way.

Not to pressure, but will there be emails sent out or an announcement for the Individual rewards? I assume those are just more time consuming and involved to calculate.

Yes, I'll start sending out emails for those on Tuesday (Paizo's offices are closed today for Martin Luther King Jr. Day). I wanted to wait until I'd been able to respond to the initial wave of settlement requests, which turned out to be a particularly good thing when we discovered not all the emails were going out. Now that everything is fixed and settled down, I'll jump back on that tomorrow.

Some issues came up on Tuesday that monopolized all our time for the last couple days, and will likely continue to distract us for several more days, but I did finally manage to get all these emails sent out. If you were expecting to be rewarded some Character Points and have not yet received an email about the rewards, write to customer.support@pathfinderonline.com and tell me which character you were expecting rewards for.

Could you please give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down to the below website?

https://pathfinderonline.com/

That is our official URL. Technically, there's just one site, and you've always been able to get to it through either goblinworks.com or pathfinderonline.com (with or without the "www." in front). For now, all we've really done is start referring to pathfinderonline instead of goblinworks whenever we make a new mention of a URL, and we're slowly changing old references to point to pathfinderonline as well. Eventually we'd like to set up a redirect so that anyone going to goblinworks.com would find themselves at pathfinderonline.com instead, but there are some technical issues we need to work through before we can do that.

The unassigned hex near Brighthaven jumps to the final escalation, and the ogres got cut down to size:

  • Succinct Prime 3-3-4: Currently on escalation 25 (Elite Dark Elves) at 72575 strength.
  • Unassigned (Fort Ouroboros 2-3): Currently on escalation 24 (Elite Duergar Slavers) at 54750 strength.
  • Unassigned (Fort Ouroboros 6-6): Currently on escalation 24 (Elite Duergar Slavers) at 58250 strength.

Anything else under consideration for moving closer to 2e PF in addition to the Deity Domains?

Well, the Alchemist is drawn more from the 2e version than from 1e, though I did go back to 1e for inspiration on some of the feat names. That said, I haven't really looked to see how different they would have been if I'd started from a 1e perspective. Might very well have been pretty similar. Either way, they still needed a lot of adjustments to fit the way we handle roles overall.

There are also some touches of the latest happenings in Golarion in the Seekers escalation from this year's event, particularly during the last phase with the necromancers.

Other than that, the deities are the main thing currently on the roadmap with a big link to 2e changes, so they're the ones we've thought about enough to even start having a conversation about.

Made significant progress on the Alchemists, but between the snow and a few other surprise crises, we couldn't devote much time to them this week. Might still be able to get an initial version of them up on Zog around the middle of next week, assuming no new crises.

FYI, we rolled out some server-side fixes today to clean up the way Active status is displayed on both the website and in-game. If any of you are still seeing anything weird, post here or send email to customer.support@pathfinderonline.com.

In general, you should see one of the following for each character under the described circumstances:

  • Active: This character is currently Active and doesn't require any intervention on your part to reactivate when its current month runs out (e.g. there are credits available to reactivate it or autobilling is set to buy more credits).
  • Active until X: This character is currently Active but requires intervention on your part to reactivate when its current month runs out (e.g. the character is not set to Reactivate Automatically, there are no credits available and autobilling isn't set up to buy more credits).
  • Free Trial Mode: This character is currently Inactive but can play the game in Free Trial Mode.
