@Cal, that map you linked is EBA territory.

We at this point, don't really claim anything past 2 hexes outside each of our settlements. We have made agreements with those in our area for the hexes we have placed holdings in that extend beyond that range.

Sad part is a good group of like 30 active people could probably wipe out the whole map.
To the OP:

I don't know if I can say in this case, because the game was designed to be pretty intricate, I don't think that we have seen anywhere near the PvP/Political landscape that we will see.

Here is the thing, right now its like the wild west, but a lot more kinder, because generally the people in game can play nice together no matter what they think. Imagine when the game forces you to claim hexes for a Kingdom/Nation border? When we have laws we can set, when people have to act within range of their alignment or lose their abilities. Imagine a world where you can be a good guy and a bad guy at the same time, mechanically speaking.

Finally, imagine a world with 10k people in it, and what happened in those two monster hexes are happening on a daily basis with people you can't even contact.

I sure hope this game makes it, because I want to see that crazy game world.

So, the whole working together to farm that hex was just what? a lie? If you didn't want us to be there, then say you don't want us to be there. End of story. We came? We saw? We took? Isn't that exactly what you did to an unclaimed hex that Duffy's group had been farming?

I think you have something backwards, AL put the work into that hex, not Brighthaven, we were helping them farm the hex. Then our guys were attacked, when AL attacked you.

We didn't kill the boss, nor were we going to kill the boss, we were farming it (a total of 2 hours), like others were farming it, in an unclaimed hex. How is this aggressive? You are the one that killed off the boss and ended the escalation, because we were there. We were nice about it too, and even worked with you for awhile farming it so it was easier. I didn't feel anything was unfair about that, and everything seemed cordial.

Hey, as far as I am aware there were 2 Brighthaven people in the SW and they were attacked.

Man, look I guess your roleplaying, "it's not who we are," or whatever, I am asking if you want to PVP for fun in hexes outside of 2 around settlements in our alliances. I am asking because this is a game and a lot of people are bored, not because I am some supposed evil dude sitting at a computer asking a question.

In that hex specifically? I don't know, I don't take notes that specific. I have, however come up there with Ozem's at least twice to do escalations. And we have done escalations around Rathglen a few times, and finished a dark elf one 2 hexes south of Rathglen.

We defend ourselves when we are attacked.

Do you want to PvP in hexes that are outside a 2 range hex radius from claimed settlements?

Saying you don't own something but you live there? Isn't that a bit conflicting?

We have in fact gone up north several times to fight escalations, they have just been outside of a two range radius of most settlements, as per policy.

Why don't you just say people aren't welcome in your area? I mean you are beating around the bush heavily here. You don't claim any hexes, but you also don't want people there, you want to fight over hexes else where, but only in places you deem territory that no one has claim over. It all seems somewhat contradictory.

Our policy remains the same, we aren't going to farm monster hexes within two hexes (as the crow flies) of alliance settlements we're neutral with or on better terms, or in claimed territory without permission. Anything outside of that is fair game like we have been doing for months. Also, EBA isn't established anymore, and neither are its borders, so, I have been going by the same policy, with outsiders in our area, anything outside two hexes is fine (TEO controls Brighthaven, Hammerfall, and Blackwood Glade) for farming. Our policy has been respectful.

The original beef was with the Southeast guys Duffy was with, not with Duffy himself. They came into a hex in the Northwest, apparently while the Southwest and Southeast had Usties, and behaved in an intimidating manner, competing over a resource far from their home and threatening to kill the hex. Like Duffy I also killed the hex and sent them packing.

Let history be known who started this act of aggression. They are the reason that Ustie hex was targeted Duffy; it was not some devious plot as Baron is hoping to hear. But we were in no man's land, and as far as I know we haven't broken any "laws", but it sounds like the laws of the land are now changing.
Untrue, the was NO Ustie hex at the time in the SE that we knew about. We saw you in hex and invited you to party where you proceeded to hunt legends with us for 1 hour until we all tired out and went to bed. You told us that you had had that Ustie escalation in that hex since EE11 started and have been farming it (not killing it) since day 1. We were perfectly content to set up camp there and farm it with you and not kill it off. The next day I got on in the afternoon to find you killing it off by yourself and stating that you had every right to do so. You also supposedly told one of my mates that you did it to "save us from a PVP bloodbath that would of occurred if we stayed longer in the hex because your settlement mates did not like the fact that we were there so close to Talonguard. When I asked you about it directly, You told me that you didn't need to explain yourself and that the Usties would pop up again somewhere else. Your prerogative I guess but don't go claiming we were intimidating you and threatening to kill it of because that would be a lie. For the record, You started this, not us.

You then proceeded to travel to the far SW and interrupt our farming down there while we were with Duffy and his crew. You knew we were there and you purposely intended to spoil our farming fun. I am okay with the game and competition but don't pretend you are the good guy in all of this. You even switched Hagen from one settlement company to another company in Live Oak right before you invaded our fun. Doesn't sound to upfront to me. Just be honest about it. Objective based PVP is good for the game and I am all for it.
This is pretty much what heard and experienced.

Just for the record Brighthaven's policy has been to stay at least two hexes away from most settlements (especially settlements that have active PvErs) when fighting monster hexes. This has mainly applied to HRC, AL, Highlanders. First off, we roam around like everyone else looking for good spots to farm, Usties were not in the SE when the dustup happened. So a few people parked characters in the west, I say west because its three hexes sw of Talonguard, a place that has never been claimed and not within two hexes of a settlement, it is on the cusp of no man's land.

Second, what ever you consider intimidating, apparently we don't, you were offered to come join us, you were shown respect. NO WHERE DOES IT SAY that you owned that hex, or that it requires that we personally offer Takasi a place to continue to farm that hex or he will then kill off the boss. Communication goes both ways, if you would have said please send me a tell when you head in there, there would have been no issue.

After the dust up, literally the day after, three Usties Hexes popped, two of them in the SE, and within 24 hours someone had killed them all. Someone took the time, over night, to come and kill both the Mountain and Swamp of Usties.

Then a couple days later we have what we have right now, AL+Brighthaven hanging out and killing Usties together, and you all know the rest.

That is pretty much my take on it.

Right now, I am not trying to be super political or anything, shit happens, people feel entitled, and there has to be leas than 100-200 people playing this game on a daily basis. Are we really going to let this crap blow up? Effect long term decision making? If you want to kill someone and defend your territory, even if you don't have anything claimed, do it, if you want to farm a monster hex someone where do it, things need to be shaken up a little, an air of danger is fun, but does this really matter?

Guys, lets just have fun ok? Most of the people here are pretty good guys, even the evil ones are good guys at heart lol, lets just have some fun. Until we know the truth future of this game, we shouldn't get riled up by this kind of stuff.
