Cauchemar
Well Cauchemar is the french word for Nightmare but was picked as a name based on the Pathfinder 1st edition monster "Cauchemar" which is the larger form of a Nightmare (a cool but very evil flaming Horse). Nobody in the settlement Cauchemar speaks french and the founding company name was picked by a google translation.
I realize now that this might lead to confusion but didn't exactly think it all through originally.
smile
a thin line of my real life ancestry is French but very small.
Cauchemar is a new settlement finding it's place on the edge of the Echo Wood in the Shadow of the impenetrable Fort Inevitable.

Happened to notice a new company in game today, "Artisan des Cauchemars", but not sure who started this company and why.
If anyone has some info please let me know.
Would be nice to have some others working with me on this new settlement. Settlements certainly aren't designed for a low population.
Well this was all a major pisser, I was going to give a surprise Christmas gift to Cauchemar. Make a new company give it a couple holdings and attach it to the settlement so it could have some extra DI. But I got noticed the day I made it but was keeping the secret even though the Jig was somewhat up, then some D..K makes a company with almost the same name to ruin everything. Too bad I thought this would be a fun deal but now it's a no deal.
Sorry, I will now deliver 1 unit of coal to Cauchemar. smile

Merry Christmas

Well that's embarrassing. I have been moving and shuffling characters so basically do a company search every day lately. Seemed odd and I didn't know what was going on so I tried to contact others to no avail. I guess making the company with a similar name got your attention, just not the right attention I suppose. smile
Merry Christmas. it's the thought that counts I guess.
Are you in charge of Aragon still Kenton? Would like to discuss some diplomacy matters with you at some point.

I heard there were some questions in game in the general chat about Cauchemar. Unfortunately I wasn't on to see that first hand.
Although I hope everyone feels free to post whatever questions or concerns they have right here.
Bob was so nice to add this sub forum here just for Cauchemar, it would be nice if it at least gets used.

… With all the variable involved though, the only way to really find out how it works out in-game is to give it a try.
I like this idea to at least see how it is now with all the newer variables in place. Thanks Bob.

Yes, you'll get the same percentage of influence back regardless of what causes the outpost/holding to disappear.
Well that will be a nice consolation at least. Thanks.

I know if the outposts and holdings are deconstructed that a portion of influence is returned. However if a feud occurs and a holding and outposts are destroyed, is there any influence returned to the company who held the holding and outposts in question?
Just curious in case such a thing happens to me.

I knew that the different levels (+#) of the Auction House dictates the duration that a bid or sale last. However I just recently learned that there is also a restriction on the items that can be listed based on the AH level.
Is this documented anywhere or does any have what each level is restricting? Maybe this is something that should be added to the wiki?

Congrats on the Keep.
Thanks. Hoping to have more buildings soon. Or eventually once the settlement planners can agree on the optimal design. smile
