Pathfinder University demanded nothing of Forgeholm. In fact, we are still in negotiations regarding the details of PFU's access to the strip of mountain hexes on the southern tip of the Southern Echo Peaks which Forgeholm occupies. Forgeholm stands to be the beneficiary of its location in the mountains, hopefully gaining some new recruits and getting the opportunity to work with many new players and long term students, as well as sometimes pitching in and helping the university with other matters. While PFU was located on the far south side of the map, having several members of Forgeholm in Riverbank just was not practical. PFU's new geography changes that, and we are excited to have PFU in our neck of the woods.

Or maybe make them "Pathfinders", or some other Pathfinder appropriate lore name. Or even something from the River Kingdoms (River Kingdoms Guides, River Rats, Water Rats, Embeth Woodsmen/Embeth Travelers).

Forums for each religion and faction, under a "Religious Factions" and "Golarion Factions" maybe, so we would know where to find such specific information, especially as new info comes out for both broad topics.

The ability to change the geography and geology of the terrain. I want Forgeholm to build a huge underground (or mountain) stronghold. I'll sad face with Hobs. smile

Forgeholm fully supports Pathfinder University moving to their new home! We are quite familiar with that territory and gladly surrender the tower near "Olde Kindleburn" in exchange for getting the chance to work with PFU, its staff, and its students. Hoffman and other staff members need but ask and Forgeholm will help the students as much as possible as they learn the ropes and the intricacies of the Pathfinder Online game systems. It is an exciting time to be in game and see the changes and growth!

BL, we can remain positive, post honest appraisals of the game, have a real discussion with prospects and Buddy Key testers about the good and bad things. There are a lot of both of those, but if we want to get more players paying a subscription in order to generate cash flow so GW can hire another programmer or artist, just have the conversation. This game is not for the faint of heart. It is in a rough early stage, but that is what has been said all along. All these people that want to freeze time and wait for the game to magically finish and be perfect for millions of subscribers have never seen a business plan in their life, much less tried to run a business. Ryan evaluated the industry, came up with a plan, and took a risk. I am willing to try to help reach the goal, and have some fun while doing so.

I am getting some feedback from several of the people that I have given out Buddy Keys to (I have four accounts and have given out 126 Buddy Keys). Some have come in, one has converted (so far), and several have sent feedback to my email the Buddy Key was given to. Here's what I got.

1) Some players couldn't get past "loading terrain"…stuck repeatedly and never could get logged in. I tried to direct them to the forums (Paizo from the Alpha and current Goblinworks Tech forums), but most didn't want to bother since it was a trial and there are lots for other game to play for free

2) Upon login they could not move… the video, even on pretty high speed computers, would not play the game. For whatever reason they were stuck in position and the graphics feed was so slow they couldn't move at all and gave up right after log in…most were still on the plateau of the keep in Marchmont

3) People with "nice gaming rigs" can't play the game for various reason. I do not know the technical details, not being a tech savvy guy (I don't text either) but this is a pretty consistent issue with a number of "Buddy"s

4) The tutorials are not very easy to follow, and it's almost impossible to read the text provided. I know that is a "known issue", but it should be pushed out pretty soon if the GW wants the Buddy Key visitors who are used to starting toots to stick around

5) Graphics are not optimized (GW knows this). The game burns hot in PCs and has reportedly fried some players PCs. The temp gauges in my own PC show it hot so I need to shutdown periodically to let the heat disperse

6) There are graphic elements that are "rough around the edges". Getting stuck on trees, stuck in objects… whatever the process is for "rounding the edges" might help

There might be more comments but I haven't filtered all the replies yet.

I had three Buddy Key referrals all emailing there was a delay of some sort. One was crashing repeatedly. But they all seem to have cleared and it coulda been anything in between.

This might go under the "Bug" forum, but I have had three of the people that I have given Buddy Keys to that have not been able to get into the game today. One reports the download is repeatedly crashing, another is not able to activate the account. Any known issues getting new recruits into Marchmont?

I do not think they are "running out of money". But the pace would be much slower with zero income stream. Have you read up on what these large companies are spending on MMO development before they get their first paying customer? Hundreds of millions of dollars! And sometimes the end product is unplayable garbage. Even when they meet their goals the games can't make it (SWTOR is a good example) and have to completely rewrite their business plan. I don't know everything Ryan put into his business plan, but he seems to have thought through the stickier issues and understands the limitations a small shop has to suffer through to reach the desired end point.

I am not saying development would stop (I have no insider info) but if you listened to the Fireside Chats the staff is up front in saying more income means faster production. Lee said they have four programmers. Four. One more increases programming by 25%. That is a significant amount of increased productivity. Say a programmer is getting paid 50k per year. That means 334 annual subs pay that guy's base pay and programming goes up by 25%. I am just working on getting the subscribers and I'll let GW interview the new help.

Out weaponsmiths are sad there is no class to use the quarterstaff yet. The humble Softwood Quarterstaff has not made an appearance, rendering the mighty Hardwood Quarterstaff irrelevant. Pity the Hardwood Quarterstaff! smile
