I have left over Base Defense Stones from running my toons thru the tutorial. I need coal and iron to help me finish a large refining order and suddenly less free time available.
I would like to trade 3 stones for 3000 iron and 3000 coal (1000 of ea per stone) or some combination. I'll entertain "Best Offer". Contact me uotopia@msn.com if interested.

ThX All!

This Humble Bundle promotion has really done well in bringing in some new people to try out PfO. It has brought out great Community spirit as far as helping these young Golarians out getting started. Pretty sure I have seen members of every active group participating in this and many, many solo players. I've even seen these new players catching the spirit and helping other new players with their new knowledge. Fantastic! This really shows that we have an A+ community here. I'm proud to be part of it.

I'm also curious, what could we possibly do to be BETTER at it than we already are? How could Paizo help us? What things seem to be most helpful, overall, and are most likely going to get New Players to stick around?

I should probably know the answer to this but I don't so….
Can you buy game time with Azoth?

Yes. 1650 Azoth can be converted to 1 month subscription time.

Yeah I picked the "Diminishing Curve" result up in your first post, Harneloot. I should have noted that in my reply to Drizzle. Yes all things should have limits and all things should have balancing factors.

For all of those concerned about Pay-to-Win elements, please remember that Azoth (which I bet will become the actual cash shop currency) is fully tradable. People can work In-game and trade to get it for coin/whatever made through that play.

Please don't tell me that people object to Play-to-Win type gaming!

The fact that you might eventually play and get anything available on the cash shop really nullifies almost all the argument, IMO.

It's also going to create other issues, think PvP.

If your going to allow catchup XP you need to limit it in some way. Potentially, setting the max XP for any one character to be whatever XP a continually subbed day one character would have accrued is a good starting point. Otherwise your going to see people with too much money creating monster toons and/or using catchup XP as a way to respec whenever their current build has failed to work as hoped.
I can agree to that completely.

"XP Injectors" smile
It would partially address two problems I can think up without thinking at all.

I would be happy with up/down arrows or allow the mouse wheel to scroll the vault list.
Moving the little circle is a huge pain when I go past what I am looking for 3-15 times in a row.
+1 also.

Can you exclude the "problematic categories" (Premium) from even having a Tier tab?

It would add some complexity/time to the work, since the sorting UI is currently identical for every tab. On the other hand, it could let us add more sorting categories to specific tabs, like Variety or Skill, that could make sorting even more useful. Certainly something we'll consider.
Thanks, Bob. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with when you feel is enough of a priority.

Thanks for that info, Edam. An interesting read and definitely something Paizo should be aware of. Not sure how/why it doesn't apply to those figurine packs or even collectable card game packs. Not sure why many games still risk things very similar to (or exactly like) loot boxes, but whatever…

It isn't really important that MY ideas to raise PfO's bottom line are the ones that are used. My point is that they really do need to, so that they can get some help for their Dev team.

Most everyone is very OK with the ideas of a cosmetic Only cash shop. I am too. The truth though is that we are already past that NOW, and I would ask how would Paiso get programmers to create cosmetics?. Player housing offers buffs. Azoth gives higher chances to refine better and to actually bump crafting to the next level. Etc… We are past a cosmetic only cash shop. Except it and leverage it.

Lots of games have acceptable cash shops and they should be looked at. Some players still complain about having CS's, at all, in their games. Lots of players grumble about PVP in games. Lots of players grumble about lots of things. If you try to please ALL, you almost always end up with pretty much no vision (of your original game) left at all. Or you end up with a game like WoW or a clone, but PfO really doesn't have a budget for that at all.

@ PfO
Primarily though, this is 2019. Old attitudes need to evolve. Cash shops are here. It only makes sense to leverage them to raise your bottom line so that you can make your game better within a reasonable time frame.
