Have to agree with Maxen. Once you start a contest and name prizes and run a contest, the prizes should belong to the victors. Don't mess with that dynamic. It would be bad policy. If all are willing, alternate prizes might be worth consideration. Maybe higher plus buildings or such for higher rank winners, whatever…

IMO, unused/unwanted settlements should revert to NPC control and be held that way for a future LandRush contest as part of the Promo to OE.
*cut into the resentment/reluctance of "your new player groups" starting a territory control game with little to no territory realistically available
*show hope that there IS TERRITORY available for new players
*it would create needed "hype" at that time.

@ Bob
In general, as an overall average, would you say that the monster homehexes have a bit less enchanting mats in them than the regular escalation hexes? Not counting enchanting salvage mats.

Asking because it is generally tough to get a handle on results with drop rates so low and time being pretty precious, at least from my POV.

Thanks, Bob.

I can't help but wonder if the pressure to make tremendous improvements (and make them fast) overshadows the dynamic of how the Devs feel they must approach development here. From where I sit, new engine making the most sense first but also being a real ogre-project, I can't help but feel that some small things would be pretty demonstrative of positive and visible stuff happening.

That probably reads almost contradictory with as small as the team is but some changes to PVP looting, some QoL work and some price changes (IMO) really might attract some new and old subscribers.

Somewhere Bob posted what gather rank would be needed to get some of the more advanced enchant mats. Could anyone link or point me to that?
plz?
I thought it would be in the release notes https://goblinworks.com/forum/topic/5714/ but didn't see it.
It is 3 above each tier to get that tier's enchanting mats from nodes though so…
level 3 (or 4?) for T1 enchanting mats
level 10 for T2 enchanting mats
level 17 for T3 enchanting mats
At least that is how I understand it. The salvage drop based on the tier of the mobs smile
That rings a bell, Sir NightmareSr. I'll go with it for now in spending xp. My thanks! smile

Would it be possible to move the slips of paper from Crafting to Misc tab? Also recipes could be moved to another tab to free up space.

FB
Have to agree that would be a nice small QoL fix that would have BIG impact.

Question on enchanting mats: Are there an equal number of T3 mats for every type (mining, forestry, essence, scavenger)?

I wasn't shooting for pure equality (hard to do anyway because mining and scavenger cross over a bit), but I did try to make sure that each skill had a reasonable variety at each tier and was needed for multiple enchantment types.

We've always worked off a design/economic assumption that if skill X is at one point more profitable than skill Y, then more players would focus on X than Y, driving prices down for X's product and up for Y's product. That rebalances everything dynamically based on the actual demand for things instead of depending on our guesses at future demand. As such, we try to ensure that every item or skill has a reasonable inherent base value, then let the chips fall where they may.
I figured that they must be somewhat spreadout as I am finding wererat blood in mining nodes! :p
Was really looking which gather skill would be best to advance. smile

I know that it is not IDEAL but there is a work around to the increasingly frustrating bank vault situation. If you start from a vault (personal, company or company secure) that is mostly empty, set your selection there (i.e. personal->crafting->raw) then switch the selection to the packed vault (i.e. company). The settings will go to that vault and have somewhat less items to call up.

Less than ideal, yet it saves file recall effort.
