I will tell you this, if you or any other HRC member choose to continue escalating your guerilla warfare tactics outside the limited scope of our contested areas detailed in the BHA-2 declaration, BHA will have no choice but to retaliate in kind. You will forfiet the safety net of your political curtain around your claimed areas that BHA is currently recognizing.

I have yet to meet a single Citizen of the North who doesn't support and acknowledge the BHA's interest and efforts to operate a tavern and trading post at it's current location.

I have yet to meet a single Citizen of the North who supports or acknowledges the BHA-2 declaration.

I'm a Citizen of the North and I support this message.

It looks to me, from a few posts herein, that some groups are trying to establish…. How to Talk to The Boss. I am not sure that The HRC is structured that way for casual query and certainly not without a good deal of groundwork. That at least has been my experience.

It is different than how most of us operate, granted, but it is a helpful thing to realize that The HRC can, will, and does make general agreements with groups that are reasonable in turn. I may have all of this wrong, they are just impressions that I have built from dealing with The HRC for a long time.

They are not just a bunch of crazy barbarians and eclectics. You do have to put in some work to get them all on the same page and that work needs to be reasonably friendly or at least not negatively provocative.

Edit: Forgive me for taking liberties to try and define you, The HRC. These are just my take on how to treat with your group. No offence is intended in any way.

No offense taken, Bringslite. In fact, I would purport that you have more insight as to how to garner a lasting and peaceable agreement with the HRC than any other organization on the server and have firsthand proof that once this is attained, it is honorably and dependably maintained.

How hard is it to figure out? Members of the HRC are Citizens of the North. We support freedom, brotherhood, the defiance of tyranny and a like minded desire of protecting our home. Each of us has a voice and a sword arm (spell hand?) and love in our heart for the right of our brothers and sisters to live as they choose. We do not tax, we accept gifts for the greater good. We do not scorn, we council. We do not dictate, we discuss and share council. I speak for the people of the Bulwark Hills because they say I do. Do I lead them? Nay!

An apparently Drogon, you have been unsuccessful in giving instructions to your alliance, as Relling was also found in the crater hex this afternoon, apparently hunting duegar.

I was in there on sat and sunday, Mist. On the character "Fleki" and I gathered adamantine only through the 1st layer. I will stay out now so as not to add confusion to the situation. No Duergar where hunted by Fleki.

As stated previously, all members of companies who are not members of the BHA are welcome to gather and pass through our lands. We encourage you to visit and socialize anytime you would like. In addition, though you did not request it, I officially grant Fleki the right to join us in taking on those dwarven scum. You know where to find us, join us anytime.

It has been publicly announced in good faith that due to undesired BHA holdings in the Bulwark Hills, the High Road Covenant has revoked trespass permissions to all characters attached to a BHA member company. You may travel the shield road to and from your Tavern. You may traverse a shield hex anywhere on the map as far as we are concerned. If any of your members wander off of that road and are witnessed in a hex anywhere else within the Bulwark Hills region, your gear and possessions will be forfeit. No further warnings will be given. Response will be immediate and agents of the HRC will pursue offending characters across _any_ terrain to reclaim our property and enact penalty for its theft.

As stated in our territory claim, all other citizens of the River Kingdoms are currently free to visit our lands and gather the top layer of quality of our resources. Non BHA members are welcome to join us in hunting in our monster hexes provided they first ask permission of a HRC representative.

Upon removal of the offending holdings and agreement of reasonable terms, all rights of trespass and gathering will be restored to BHA members within a reasonable period of time.

It is the "inside our territory" part of that gives the perception that you are unwilling to negotiate. We are trying to establish a formal right to be there. If buying the tavern doesn't give us that, we have to place holdings.

Why? Why do you need territory in that region now?
You are putting in place something, just in case, some time in the vague future, that the developers may decide that the purchased taverns need bulk goods to operate above minimum level.
For that, you are willing to infringe on the territory claimed by another alliance, regardless of the state of negotiations.

Would you be willing to allow the HRC to place two holding in hexes of our choice (that are currently unoccupied by BHA companies) - maybe I should rephrase that, would you accept it if the HRC placed two holding and support outposts in two hexes in the claimed territory of the BHA? (please note that several HRC members have spare influence and already made holdings - so a yes on your part may see HRC holdings sprout in your territory).

You should ask those things of Drogon. I am not a settlement leader of BHA.

As for why now, because you made a formal claim that, at the time you made it, stated we were not welcome in your territory.

As for your placement of holdings in blue hexes, I'd ask about your motivation. If it seemed you had a reasonable claim, I'd be willing to discuss it. But as a reasonable person would see - our claim is to establish a right to our tavern which we can only do with holdings in adjacent hexes. Your holdings would be placed for the purpose of irritating the BHA. IMO.

If you want to quit beating the war drums, I imagine a hex-for-hex swap could be worked out. Or something like that. Something other than warmongering. HRC never entered into a real negotiation for territory with the BHA.

Again, all that would need to be worked through actual leadership.

I think what Cal was actually asking is why did you find more offense to a colored shape on a map that was posted last week as opposed to when HRC holdings occupied those hexes for many, many months. Until our capture of Veggr Tor, all of the hexes near that tavern and Rotter's Hole were occupied from nearly the start of the War of Towers. Never was a complaint lodged by any of your leadership or citizens. From our perspective it was a Tavern owned by a player with a platinum account who got very, very angry and left the game in a huff.

We only made the map claim because we finally tired of legalistic manipulators referring to hexes in the heart of the Bulwark Hills as "unclaimed territory". Upon doing so, you contest the claim because of your tavern. We communicated that we support the existence of your tavern in the area and welcome the trade and social interaction it could bring. We offered to rent you hexes in the area for token payments of less than 5 bulk resources per month (we would have agreed to a single bulk resource per month), but were unwilling to cede ownership of land within the Bulwark Hills to a foreign power by fiat.

We indicated that the Bulwark Hills region outlays a natural and identifiable political border and it is the land in which we have lived, hunted, and managed since the inception of the game. Land that many of you deemed "backwoods" and "undesirable" for much of this game's history.

You requested that you needed time to discuss internally and we not place holdings in those hexes until the termination of our talks. We agreed and did not in good faith finding you both reasonable and honorable at the time. In 48 hrs you returned with a written proposal of shared ownership and a buyout of two tier three recipes, one for each hex. We communicated that we were the ones who now needed time for internal discussion. During this meeting or shortly after, your agents placed holdings in both the hexes in question.

It is true, that we are offended and upset by what we view as a breach of good faith. I do not think we would be alone in that stance were others in our shoes. We continue to question your need of this territory.

HRC is free to incorrectly paint
No incorrect painting is required. I'm certain that you feel you followed the letter of your intent. Your intent, as evidenced by your actions, was dishonest.

Moreover, it was outlined in the outset of our meetings that legalistic shenanigans to frame a moral high ground for abhorrent and and aggressive behavior was not only unwanted, but also an infuriating factor. If the BHA wishes to use it's power structure for benevolent acts which promote the greater good, the HRC is in support of those endeavors. When the BHA uses legalistic interpretations of communication to achieve it's goals of self empowerment and oppresses the freedoms of sovereign nations, be it our own, or others, the HRC is willing to oppose those actions with life, limb, and livelihood until freedom is once again the law of the Bulwark Hills. We were willing to give you what you wanted, we simply disagreed on who still owns the land when it was done. You took the land anyway by fiat.

Your actions are both dishonest and disreputable. I would rather lose a war the rest of the year and beyond than let such tyranny stand. I know I am not the only citizen of the North that feels as such.

Because, of course, sticking +4 holdings in the disputed territory in the middle of negotiations wasn't the escalation. How Middle Eastern of you.
Please retract this statement. The HRC wishes to make no claims or accusations that could be construed as racial in nature.
