chill touch would be nice to have back…

but for those wizards that still want to tank..

weakening ray ( secondary) basically applies the same condition as the old chill touch- it does take up a secondary slot, instead of primary- causes opportunity and 1 second slow- as opposed to chill touch.

Yet other than that - it still applies 10 drained like chill touch did-

if you run a drain mastery in reactive then one shot of weakening ray to a mob is usually enough to keep DC healing at the 5% level.( or just cast weakening ray when needed.. if you like other mastery things.)

PS dont nerf this one.
the 5% cure instead of 7%
was probably enough the first time around..
can stand toe to toe with most anything 1 v 1 but cant take on whole groups of stuff anymore..

Yep edam that is right.. but the question was how will free trial accounts not exist as scouts across the map.

The response was have them appear at shrines.. which doesn't address the question of how will these free accounts not be used for scouting.
Smitty
Logging in at shrines wont fix what the question was ..
for scouts - usually you are wanting to check monster hexes across the map, logging into a shrine is perfect for that… unpaid alts should log into closest settlement .. if you want to avoid that..

Since this is XP based thread –

Why not just provide ways to earn xp while playing the game?

Have asked before about kill quest- This seems like something players would expect from this type of game. Go out kill monsters get xp. It flows with what would normally encounter in table top.

Provides new players something to do if they spent the 1k they started with- the NPCs already do coin quest - should be able to tweak those easy enough to make them able to be requested by characters with certain ability scores.
Think it is worth pursuing ..

If opening the flood gates to buy xp - don’t forget about the army of folks that will scream Pay to Win -

This would at least give people options to get additional xp without forking over more money….
We could do something along those lines, and being open to XP purchases does somewhat open the door to this possibility as well. There are some tricky balance issues involved, but then there always are.

In terms of quest prerequisites, we currently gate them on either completing another specific quest (you can't do the role tutorial quests until you do the movement tutorial quest), getting a specific achievement (you can't do the Rolling Bones quest until you've gotten Skeleton Slayer 1), or on learning a specific feat (you can't do the escalation tutorial quest until you learn Base Attack Bonus 1). We could certainly add more kinds of prerequisites, but those are pretty good methods for now.

Have said to myself for quite a long while - you guys need to pick a direction for PFO.
Opt in of PvP is a direction.. ( and one you have been headed in for the last few years) not that I like that direction, but if you feel like this will bring in people in enough numbers that will allow the game to survive- go for it.

Because the way PvP has been adjusted to this point has ruled out most of the player base that would be interested in PFO anyway.
Examples of why people interested in PvP don’t want to play this..
Territory fights –
limited time 3 days a week , defender can defend for as little as an hour-
at a time of defenders choosing – and really is only at risk of losing something if the holding is vulnerable – ( so in actuality if they want to defend they only have to do so once a week..).
.
feuds can be dodge by just changing companies- so a PvP group cant target group of people they want to fight unless - the targeted groups wants to fight.
.
You pretty much already have opt in PvP - ( in the sense of territory control) – So unless you are willing to go back a long way along the PvP spectrum you are not going to bring in many PvP players anyway.

So this opt in PvP thread says you are wanting to turn off the only token/carrot you gave pro PvP players over the last few years- escalation hexes being low security and rep hits in medium…… and make things official by saying that this is an opt in PvP game..

In regards to how to salvage PvP as a play style
ST - SWG gear loss post was interesting.. and wanted to throw this out there.. as an idea
Opting in to PvP leaves gear loss as it is.. and loss of inventory should be like 10%.
Not opting in to PvP - ( having you husk protected - and you inventory protected) - means that when you die to PvE stuff - your gear should take at least double if not triple ( or more) durability loss. And inventory should be affected with a 50% chance of destruction.. I don’t see that as a penalty- but more as a consequence of wanting to protect your stuff – from ever being at risk.. (really a high level character dying to PvE ? our escalations arent that challenging .. if I can protect my stuff and kill the best loot producing critters without risk - when I screw up it should hurt more..)

Just an idea…

Dont think asking for salvage to be added to boss drops is off the post topic of boss drops - but maybe that is just me….
If the devs spend time on this - i would rather them figure out how to have a mouse scroll through a bank - you know in case they ever want to get past all the frustrating portions of the game- so that we can find players to stick around long enough to get tired of the repetitive stuff …
Smitty
Or just add the salvage as a very high chance of dropping for a boss kill- like 60% - 75%% of the time you get the salvage items the escalation offers- in addition to the other things.

Many of them have 2 types - some of have 4+ types - So inventories would be filling fast on boss kills but still - makes sense to me to have salvage drop off the boss at higher rates than normal mobs.

Ok

So i made a +3 Keen Avenger Dagger -
It states it provides +41 critical bonus and keyword keen.

My star slinger Attack is rank 6 - and has the Keen keyword..
But the dagger it self doesnt have the keen keyword on it - and the star slinger attack's keen keyword is not highlighted either.
Does this mean it isnt working? or the word wasnt added ?
Will send email to support as well - but figured i would ask here - first.
