The few people still playing that use to be part of Brighthaven are now based out of Beltrane's Hammerfall and have been for almost two years now. Brighthaven has been paupered to support Hammerfall and it is likely never going to open it's doors again unless/until the ToT show up. Ownership resides with the residents of Hammerfall.

I would just like to point out that Phaeros is NOT shut down, though I never see anyone from there in game.

Middleheim Shut Down also.

Middenheim (formerly Everwatch…formerly….Daggermark I think?) was The North's experiment in enticing a Meta Guild (The Knights of Glory and Beer, or KGB) to take a real stab at the game after they expressed some minimal interest. They have since disappeared as far as I am aware.

If you have never seen it, here is the FULL map of the River Kingdoms that they always planned to expand to for Open Enrollment. Kinda brings a tear to my eye thinking about how much was lost from that one funding blunder back in the day. Ah well.

Last known active player out of Sylva was Harad Navar, whom I suggested join me and the folks in Hammerfall in late summer 2017 I believe. His Company (Nettles) has been based out of Hammerfall since then, so I do not think anyone from Sylva has been active out of Sylva for over a year.

I know that I’m not the only player who feels like stone drops are way too rare. I don’t think I’ve had a stone drop in over a month, and I’m a regular escalation hunter. When completing escalation events, my Commonwealth brethren ensure that everyone is on screen for stone drop chances and we may go 4 or 5 high level escalations with not a single drop.

I’ve suggested “vet rewards” before as a way to help with retention. (I don’t recall what thread it was in.) A vet reward could be something as simple as an earned title based on a period of game play. I.e., play 6 months and get a displayable title of Baron or Baroness. 12 months, get the title of Lord or Lady. Plenty of medieval titles to make a long-term vet reward structure.

Same with Aeon Stones. I don’t recall that as a vet reward, but I think that would be another great idea for retention if players received some reasonable number of stones for subscribing.

I think Honorable Title or some such was a KS reward or KS add-on…so, while a good idea, a veteran reward would likely need to be something other than what was already sold to people.

I, too, feel like stones drop way too rarely to EVER be able to make a superior stone of anything. Considering stones should have been a monthly reward from May 2015 onward, I think that means we are all owed ~40 stones? (Which STILL would not move me appreciably closer to making a superior stone of anything.)

Who am I kidding. That is not going to happen and I most likely am a terrible PvPer anyhow. But I can dream of what sort of prizes is in a Xyzzy pinata. smile

Should we Crowd Forge the creation of a Xyzzy pinata that drops as a reward for PVP, and it gives something random?
Yes! Ah, well that is if ole Xyzzy wouldn't mind getting a seat (all immortal like) in the game's lore. smile

I hope Xyzzy agrees to the name or we could just call it the bandit's Prize.
It would make PVP more rewarding.
Would be nice to get some things in that make random PVP more fun for the targets but no less fun for the aagressors. I know that is a really complicated subject/problem though. Probably can't realistically be solved, but you never know!

Thanks for bringing the idea back to the Light, BlackMoria! smile

I have no problem with something like this being named after my toon. I even have the Epic Brewmaster reward on my account, so maybe there are ways similar to this idea that GW/Paizo could investigate to fulfill those KS rewards since I don't think the taverns are going to be serving anything any time soon smile

I DO think I explode upon death and I almost always carry something on me (even if just extra arrows) but I would totally be down for the idea that bandits must carry some kind of *magical gold coin token* or whatever fluff you want to attach to it to attack people with no feud on. That is actually a great idea!

The forever war was (hopefully) an aberration. I never understood the need, desire, anger or whatever it was that made one group of people want to mercilessly hunt down and destroy at any cost another player…and even follow that player into other games to continue that persecution. Never made sense to me and I don't think it made the game better in any sense of the word. That said, I only *know* two Golgothans (Tuffon & Reefer) and I like them both very much and think they are both a great asset to the game and one of them I really enjoy regularly playing with. They probably have a different viewpoint on the whole matter, which is likely equally as valid as mine.

However, I DO think the threat of possible PvP makes the game more fun and interesting. When you are out and about gathering or muling or killing off an escalation and there is a slim chance that someone might be lurking about in the shadows, doesn't that heighten the enjoyment of the game? If there is never any threat or risk aside from the mobs that we all easily kill at this point, then what is the real point of all of us playing this game?

Cheers!

ps- I DO slot a pretty nice Aeon Stone, so if/when threading comes in I would need to make a real meaningful choice about whether to protect that or my armor….smile

Interesting.

Going back and looking, there were so many great ideas and promised features in the KS that have never been developed, many of which I paid extra $$$ for. Even looking at the Rewards on my account screen in Goblinworks lists lots of things that would be fun. What might Twice Marked of Pharasma do? Shield Mate? Alliance Pack? Secret Salute? Memorial of Honor etc etc…
