Using the Longbow for killing things is going to give you credit toward attaining Longbow Expert 1, Longbow Expert 2 etc. Using an Axe to kill things will give you credit toward Axe Expert 1, Axe Expert 2 etc.

It is certainly complex and definitely confusing in the beginning - but it is a deep and richly interconnected system that I really enjoy.

Then, someday, alchemy needs to become the main way (outside of magic) that players acquire those extra little buffs/heals/backup damagers. The things that players wield are supposed to be player crafted.

This. Get rid of all tokens and double the batch size of Alchemical items. Gods above, would I love it if monsters no longer dropped tokens!

I agree with Maxen - you can't remove out of combat healing without adding in something else, otherwise we would burn through the thousands of lesser tokens more quickly than you'd think and be stuck waiting around to heal or doing what plopmania suggests. Maybe slowing down the out of combat healing? Certainly camps on a MUCH much shorter cool-down would be good all the way around. Right now they are virtually useless.

Maybe consolidate the types of tokens? Outside of some sort of Healing or Resistance, has anyone ever used any other type of token once they reached T2? If what you mostly got as drops were the more useful tokens, then maybe equipping them while/as they drop when fighting mobs would be realisitc.

However, reorganizing the game around getting people to use tokens more often seems kinda backwards and ridiculous, like pigheadedly insisting on using the wrong tool for a project. If people aren't using the tokens more after all this time, maybe its a poor design decision and should be scrapped? If there were no tokens at all people would sure use Alchemicals more smile

Think you guys are way missing the point of the xp..

I really like the idea of reusing those quest guys that gave out coin - for an xp quest –
Its not like going out and killing 200 or certain type of creature for 500 xp is going to break the game- or make things super cheap to T3 characters - when most are waiting months to buy the next rank of ____.

What killing 200 goblins for 500 - 1000 xp is going to do- is give the new players something to work on-
If yall or worried about it - turn it off once you have 100k banked/spent xp - but YES! Giving players something do while logged in is a very good idea- it puts them in the game and lets them interact with us and other new players .. instead of feeling like they entered a ghost town..

We want people that log in and do stuff - and accelerate their characters as much as they can - that means they are playing and hopefully having a good time.. That means they have a better chance at playing the game for more than a month …
current system is log in get 1k xp - try to figure what you want - kill some things - hit a road block of needing to get rank 2-3 attacks for a weapon - and then realizing it will take a week to learn all 6 attacks to rank 3 - or that it will take a week to get to t2 gathering .. accelerating that is precisely what should happen - if folks are playing a ton to do that - then the system is working..

I agree after a certain amount of total banked/ or spent should end those quest - but that number in my mind should be like 250k .. getting people to play and play a lot is a good thing ..

Great idea. I also think front-loading the first month's (or first week's?) xp will help people feel like they are progressing at a pace in the beginning that will help them want to stay.
